Hoboken Businesses that Compost

77% of millennials are motivated to purchase a company’s products or services if that company shows they are committed to making the world a better place.

Whether you’re a millennial or not, my guess is that you’re in that camp, too. I know I am.

A lot of businesses claim to be “green” in one way or another but actions speak louder than words.

I always thought it would be helpful to have a list of local businesses that actually operate in a way I can get behind. One of the easiest ways a business can make a fan of me is if they COMPOST.

Cafes, Coffee Shop, and More

  1. Black Rail Coffee

    • Also on the Too Good to Go app!

  2. bwè kafe

    • With 3 locations bwè’s North End (Adams St.) location began composting in January of 2022!

    • This location also features a refill station where customers can refill their own soap, dish soap, laundry detergent, and more! They also sell several other home goodies to help you along your sustainability journey.

    • They use the Too Good to Go app!

  3. Choc-o-Pain

    • All 5 locations compost and can be found on Too Good to Go!

    • Pro tip: (1) Their BREAD IS UNREAL. (2) Bring donations! They support the Hoboken Food Pantry and have a food donation box on-site.

  4. Do Good Donuts

    • Do Good has been composting with Neighborhood Compost since inception! All ingredients are locally sourced and the donuts are out of this world. I recommend following them on IG and checking out their Hotplate site to place an order!

Restaurants

  1. Hudson Table — While I’m happy to say Hudson Table has been composting for years, I’m sad that as of January 2023, they are still the only restaurant that composts in Hoboken.

Non-Profits & Community Organizations

  1. Hoboken Food Pantry
